After flying into Dalaman ariport, have a scenic half an hour drive to one of the 6 marinas, where you are welcomed on board your private gullet in Göcek. Enjoy the pristine sights around town, and enjoy a slow cruise towards Sarsala, where you can spend an overnight anchorage under the stars. Satisfy your taste buds with dinner aboard the yacht in the secluded, tranquil setting.
Get started at sunrise for Gemiler Island, with a pit stop for lunch. Have a refreshing swim and snorkel in crystal clear waters. At Gemiler, explore the fascinating ruins ashore, dating from Byzantine times. A covered walkway leading to the water’s edge and a church with partially excavated mosaic floors await you. Just before sunset, make your way to the summit and enjoy the magnificent spectacle of the sun kissing the horizon. Overnight at Gamiler Island, with dinner onboard or ashore.
Cruise past the Seven Capes to Kalkan, stopping for lunch at Kotu Burnu if the weather permits. Kalkan is a pretty coastal town set on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean. Once moored in the small attractive harbour, go ashore to explore the narrow streets where bougainvillea and jasmine spill from the balconies and the local vendors sell an amazing variety of merchandise. Dine ashore in one of Kalkan’s quaint restaurants.
A “sunken city” is located off Kekova Island and has exceptionally clear water. Enjoy the reflections and outlines of the buildings. Ucagiz is a small village with a couple of restaurants. Take a walk from here to view rock-tombs, the remains of a fort and several sarcophagi. The highlight of a visit to the Kekova Roads follows an uphill climb to the medieval fortress of ancient Simena, crowning the hill above the village of Kale Koy. The view from the top is breathtaking.
After a rejuvenating dip and breakfast, cruise for the delightful seaside town of Kas and spend the afternoon exploring the pretty harbour streets. If there is time, take an overland minibus tour to the ruins of three Lycian cities: Xanthos, Patara and Letoon and learn a little of the history of these proud people. Overnight in an anchorage near Kas harbour with dinner ashore.
Get underway during the early hours of the morning and pass the Seven Capes, stopping off for breakfast near Olu Deniz. After lunch at Coldwater Bay, take a hike up to the Greek “ghost town” of Kaya Koy, and relax with a cold drink in the shade before returning to your yacht. This evening will be spent in the clear waters of Karacaoren, a superb place for snorkelling with some spectacular islands dotted about the bay.
After breakfast, sail across the Bay of Fethiye and into the harbour on Tersane Island. Tersane is the site of a ruined shipbuilding yard and the anchorage is ideal for enjoying swimming, snorkelling and waterskiing. Overnight in Göcek Harbour or out at anchor near Göcek island.
As your journey comes to conclude, head to Göcek for disembarkation after a calm morning swim. Pack, disembark, and bid a fond farewell to your private gullet with hopes of returning soon.
