Fakarava Yacht Charter Itinerary

Located 488 kilometers north of Tahiti, this atoll is known to be gigantic. Veritable jewel of the South Seas, the gold or pink-toned motus of fine sand extend out of sight. The translucent waters of its sparkling lagoon are a never-ending invitation for swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving among the multitude of colored fish. Moreover, Fakarava is renowned worldwide for its exceptional dive sites and more particularly its northern pass, Ngaruae; the largest in Polynesia. The abundant fauna is often on the agenda: manta rays, sharks, dolphins, rays, barracudas, etc.

Fakarava
Day 01

Fakarava

Have a scenic drive down from the airport to your private luxury yacht, where your crew will welcome you on board. Unwind and settle down, get acquainted with Fakarava by discovering the quaint village ashore. Or hit the waters, indulging in the diving passes and exploring the beauty of the lagoon. Enjoy a wild anchorage before your Tahiti Atoll adventure begins!

South Pass
Day 02

South Pass

After a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters and breakfast, start your descend to the South Pass. Anchor your yacht in the lagoon here and get acquainted with Paumotu (the locals), living on their motu, which is a reef islet formed by broken coral and sand, surrounding an atoll. Have an exciting snorkel around the motus before lunch is served on board. Enjoy a barbecue on the beach, laid out by your crew, after the beautiful pink sunset.

Day 03

Tetamanu

Visit Teta manu, where a scuba dive is a must! For a more easy going activity in the crystal clear waters, snorkel on the edge of the pass to admire one of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. Swim alongside huge napoleon fish and sharks in the turquoise submarine wonder.

Motu Aito
Day 04

Motu Aito

With a slow start to the morning, enjoy breakfast before heading to Motu Aito. Explore the soft pink tinged sand on this motu while beach coming around and snorkeling. Explore the unusual image of the pink land when sunset falls, and have your breath taken away by this prized and ethereal sight. Enjoy refreshments and cocktails under the stars as you anchor in a more private vicinity.

Day 05

Toau

When sunrise greets you, start your navigation downwind, towards Atoll de Toau. Prized as a spot for perfect fishing and sailing, enjoy the spectacular view as your luxury yacht meanders through the various atolls perched on the pristine turquoise waters. Break out your water toys and relax your way through the evening, when your decadent dinner awaits you.

Day 06

Toau

Wake up early and get snorkeling in order to discover the fish parks of lively Gaston and vivid Valentine. Discover life on an isolated motu nearby the Toau Atoll. As sunset descends, enjoy the unforgettable view of the pink and orange sunset as your yacht heads towards Apataki. This magical sailing in the night under the stars will promise you a tranquil night of great conversation and memories.

Day 07

Apataki

Wake up to the sugary sands of Apataki, in the Tuamotu Archipelago. You are currently in the world’s largest chain of coral atoll stretches, covering the same approximate size as western Europe. Apataki in particular, guards a 30km long mirror-calm lagoon. On one side, enjoy a steady breeze, ideal of kite surfers and windsurfers. On the other side, indulge in some class diving alongside plenty of sharks and rays.

Cruising
Day 08

Cruising

Lift your feet up, lay back, and relax in the winds as your yacht meanders for between 4 and 6 hours of cruising to Rangiroa. Take the day slow, enjoying stops for lunch, refreshing dips, or just a second to enjoy the moment and view. By sunset, satisfy your taste buds with dinner as Rangiroa acts as your ethereal back drop.

Day 09

Rangiroa

Start your exploration of Rangiroa by heading to the south side. The island reefs, called ‘feo’,  where walls of coral along the reef create pools where you can snorkel just like in an aquarium. As the biggest city in Polynesia, the array of things to explore is endless. After lunch, allow yourself a snorkel in the coral garden, or a magnificent dive in the turquoise waters. 

Motu Ovete
Day 10

Motu Ovete

This motu in the center-south, in Rangiroa, is famous for its birds. You can observe them easily. You will spend the rest of the day walking along the reef shelf looking for sea shells. You can visit the hoa (sea passages between the reef and the lagoon) with your tender. Anchor overnight here, and enjoy another dreamy night under the stars!

Tiputa Pass
Day 11

Tiputa Pass

Ascent to the Tiputa pass, known for its spotting of dolphins. Upon arrival, visit the charming village of Tiputa and mingle with the locals and their culture, work, and art. Spoil yourself in one of the best diving spots in Tahiti (find turtles, rays, and sharks), or go searching for some good local shopping - we highly suggest that you snag the perfect black pearl.

Day 12

Tiputa Pass

Wake up, have a last refreshing dip in the most pristine turquoise waters, and then head for a tour of the pearl farm Rangiroa. After a quick visit to a village or beach, on the other side of the Tiputa pass, head to a port as your fantastic atoll journey comes to a conclusion. Disembark and bid your yacht and crew a fond farewell. Take with you the most pristine memories of your luxury yacht vacation, with hopes of returning soon!
